For adults and children over 12 years whose weight is more than 50 kg the daily dose is 400 mg (1 time per day or 200 mg 2 times a day). Duration of the treatment is 7-10 days. In uncomplicated gonorrhea, 400 mg single oral dose should be enough.
Children under the age of 12 should take 8 mg per 1 kg of body weight 1 time a day or 4 mg per 1 kg every 12 hours. In case of infections caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, a course of treatment should take at least 10 days.
In case of renal impairment or in patients who take hemodialysis, the daily dose should be reduced by 25%-50%. In those cases your doctor should adjust the dose.
